About Me

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor, with a passion for volunteering and not-for-profit work. After 30 years of working in the corporate world across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in Canada, I want to transition into the world of international development. Volunteering while seeing the world seems like a great way to start.

That was my introduction in 2018, in my pre-expat, pre-covid reality. Let’s try this again:

As the title of this website suggests, I am a traveller. I am also mother, daughter, aunt, friend, partner and recently added grandma to the list.

Professionally, I am a CPA and CIA and I hold a MSc in Forensic Accounting. I have been working in international development in east and southern Africa since 2019 and have been blessed to visit 8 countries in the region. For most of that time I was based in Uganda, but moved back to Canada in July 2025.

Coming home won’t keep me from travelling though. My next trip is always in the works. I am happy to have you along for the journey and welcome suggestions on where to go and what to see next!

I’m on Instagram and TikTok as @a_travelling_accountant
